Vice Mayor Charles Brown helps Starr Motors cut the ribbon at its new collision center on Pruden Boulevard during an event Tuesday.

Starr Motors has opened a new 5,922-square-foot collision center at 2425 Pruden Blvd., about a half-mile from the auto dealership.

Company officials celebrated the expansion with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tuesday, along with a special open-house period throughout the week.

The new Starr Motors Collision Center provides full-service repairs for all types of vehicle body and paint damage. A state-of-the-art paint booth uses a water base that creates a pristine final finish.

The eight specialists on staff can provide free estimates for any insurance company, and they are certified as a “State Farm Service Select Shop,” according to a press release announcing the opening.

“We have spent a lot of time bringing in specialists with over 172 years of experience,” manager Ed White III stated in the release. “Holding them all accountable to Starr Motors’ meticulous qualifications and standards is very important to us so that we can best serve our clients in Suffolk.”

Starr Motors has operated in Suffolk for 50 years.
