R. Lee Clark has been promoted to the position of director of banking operations for TowneBank.

He is an executive vice president based at the Member Service Center in Suffolk. In his new role, Clark will oversee loan and appraisal services, deposit services, electronic banking, and processing and general services.

Clark has worked for TowneBank for eight years and has 23 years of industry experience. He received his bachelor’s degree from The College of William & Mary and his master’s from Old Dominion University.

Clark is a member of the Payments Advisory Council for the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond. He is also a founding member and teacher at Spring Branch Community Church.

TowneBank operates 28 banking offices serving Chesapeake, Hampton, Newport News, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Suffolk, Virginia Beach, Williamsburg, James City County and York County in Virginia, along with Moyock, Grandy, Camden, Southern Shores, Corolla and Nags Head in North Carolina.
