Farm Fresh is encouraging customers to participate in it 15th annual “123-4 for the Community” program, which has provided more than $4 million worth of donations to nearly 500 public, private, charter and certified home schools throughout the region since 1999.

Shoppers can collect and turn in their Farm Fresh receipts at a participating local school of their choice. The dollar value of each receipt collected is then converted into points that schools can redeem for educational equipment and supplies. The receipt collection runs through May 31.

Schools can redeem the points for more than 2,000 items, including everything from basic classroom supplies and books to musical instruments and computer equipment.

“Farm Fresh’s ‘123-4 for the Community’ receipt tape program has been a valuable asset to our school,” said Janet Huber, librarian and program administrator at the Isle of Wight Academy in Isle of Wight. “We’ve been able to stretch our budgets in a big way to purchase audio-visual equipment, computers and other key classroom materials. The program shows that Farm Fresh really does care about its neighbors.”

According to Farm Fresh President Micky Nye, the company has a deep-rooted history of community involvement in the markets it serves. Supporting local schools has long been a key focus of the company’s charitable efforts.
