The Crossings at Harbour View, scheduled to open in the summer, has announced the appointment of two people to key sales positions.

Michelle Laskey will lead sales and marketing strategy at the new senior living community, and Christel Hoy has been hired as a sales associate.

Laskey was interim director of sales and marketing at The Chamberlin, a sister senior living community located on historic Fort Monroe in Hampton, since June 2012.

Laskey brings more than 20 years of experience in senior community marketing and healthcare management, having been director of marketing at Lake Prince Woods for almost nine years and having assisted in the start-up and marketing of an assisted living and memory care community in Virginia Beach.

Her industry background includes marketing home health care, skilled nursing care, hospice and durable medical equipment services to numerous Hampton Roads physicians and health care facilities.

Laskey has lived in Hampton Roads for the past 42 years. She is a graduate of East Carolina University with degrees in business education and business administration.

She is married and has one son, who attends Isle of Wight Academy.

Hoy brings more than 20 years of experience marketing senior living communities in the Hampton Roads area. In addition to her marketing experience, she was co-owner and operator of a non-emergency wheelchair transportation company.

A native of Portsmouth, Hoy is a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School in Portsmouth, and received her formal education from Tidewater Community College in Suffolk.

She serves as treasurer of the Portsmouth Task Force on Aging and on the Bon Secours Senior Health Board of Directors.
