State of the City dates set

The Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce’s annual State of the City series will kick off with the Norfolk address on Friday at noon at the Norfolk Waterside Marriott.  The Honorable Mayor Paul D. Fraim will provide an update on the city’s key business development initiatives, municipal progress updates and opportunities.

Nearly 1,000 of the region’s business, political and community leaders are expected to be in attendance.

Suffolk’s State of the City address has been set for May 14 at noon at the Hilton Garden Inn on Constance Road.

The Chamber’s State of the City Series has become a popular forum for elected officials and mayors to communicate with their constituents. The State of the City addresses are annual updates of each city’s progress over the past year and agenda for the year to come. The events are often sold out.

Other State of the City events in Hampton Roads are scheduled as follows:

  • Virginia Beach: March 4, noon, at the Virginia Beach Convention Center;
  • Portsmouth: April 2, noon, at the Renaissance Portsmouth Hotel & Waterfront Conference Center;
  • Chesapeake: April 15, noon, at the Chesapeake Conference Center.
