A 45-year-old man was injured on Monday when his car crashed in a residential neighborhood.

The accident happened at 6:29 p.m. at the intersection of Hillpoint Boulevard and Tee Box Lane, according to a city press release. The Nissan Rogue SUV was traveling southbound on Hillpoint Boulevard with the driver lost control of his vehicle and struck a fence, several trees and a stop sign before the SUV came to rest on its roof in the front yard of a residence in the 100 block of Tee Box Lane.

He was the only occupant of the vehicle and was transported to Sentara Obici Hospital for treatment of injuries not considered life-threatening.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation, according to the press release.
