Estate planners elect board

The Hampton Roads Estate Planning Council has elected its 2015-2016 officers, who will assume leadership duties July 1. Nancy B. Shumadine, AEP® CTFA, of Wells Fargo Bank will lead the organization, succeeding C. Arthur Robinson II of Wolcott Rivers Gates, as president.

Also elected were:

  • First Vice President — Mavis McKenley of AMG National Trust Bank;
  • Second Vice President — Todd J. Preti of Midgett Preti Alperin;
  • Secretary — W. Kevin Stewart of Stewart & Co.;
  • Treasurer — Stacy L. Long of NTrust Wealth Management;
  • Past President — C. Arthur Robinson II of Wolcott Rivers Gates;
  • And directors at large — Ron Hall of Dixon Hughes Goodman; Martha Price Stewart of St. Mary’s Home; Caryn West of Clarke Dolph Rapaport Hull & Brunick; Caroline Oliver of Palladium Registered Investment Advisors; Mark Pascucci of Wolcott Rivers Gates; and Paul Peele of New York Life Insurance Co.

Estate planning encompasses the growth, conservation and transfer of an individual’s wealth through the creation and maintenance of an estate plan.

The Hampton Roads Estate Planning Council works to improve the quality of estate-planning services to the general public by providing educational programming for those engaged in the drafting, administration and execution of estate plans, and strives to develop a greater cooperation of the role each discipline plays in the process.
