Huddle House set to open

A new dining option is on its way to a Suffolk truck stop to feed hungry travelers and locals alike.

Jeff Miller hopes to open his first Huddle House franchise at the truck stop at 2872 Pruden Blvd. by Oct. 1. His company already operates five Subways and a Dairy Queen, but he looked for a different model for this location.

“Because it’s a truck stop, we looked for something a little bit more substantial than Subway in terms of meals,” he said. “Huddle House seemed to fit the bill.”

Huddle House offers a variety of meals around the clock, including breakfast and dinner platters, waffles, omelets, burgers and other sandwiches and milkshakes.

“We’re very excited,” Miller said. “We knew we needed a full menu and great selections for our customers there. They’ll be able to get breakfast all day long, and it’s very reasonably priced.”

Miller said the restaurant has received a complete remodeling.

“I think everybody will be pleasantly surprised when they go check it out,” Miller said.

Locals and travelers have likely eaten at a Miller franchise before. His Subway franchises are all in Hampton Roads, except for one in Manassas. His Dairy Queen is off Interstate 95 at exit 118.
