A variety of chili is available at a steal of a cost this Friday to support Lake Prince Woods’ Walk to End Alzheimer’s team.
This is the second year for the event, which was held at the retirement community last year.
“This year, the Hilton offered to host it there,” said Denise Brown, director of resident services at Lake Prince Woods.
The event will feature five teams cooking up the best batches of their favorite chili recipes. The teams include Constant’s Wharf Grill, Baron’s Pub, Harper’s Table, Suffolk Fire & Rescue Station 6 and Lake Prince Woods.
Visitors will be able to vote on their favorite chili after tasting them all. Lemonade, water and tea, as well as desserts, are available at no extra charge.
Tickets to the event are $5. Raffle tickets for a 2015 Toyota Camry are also $5 and will be available at the event.
Sign-ups to walk in the Western Tidewater Walk to End Alzheimer’s will be taken at the event as well. The walk is set for Sept. 19 at Constant’s Wharf Park.
Friday’s event takes place starting at 2 p.m.
