Incubator to host pitch session

The Franklin Business Incubator has been selected as a U.S. Small Business Administration InnovateHER challenge host. This official designation allows the incubator to host a pitch session for the InnovateHER challenge.

The pitch session has been set for Nov. 10, beginning at 3 p.m. at the Franklin Business Incubator.

InnovateHER is a challenge hosted by the SBA with the goal of finding innovative products and services that help impact and empower the lives of women and families. Contestants must develop a product or service that has a measurable impact on the lives of women and families, has the potential for commercialization and fills a need in the marketplace.

Three rounds for contestants include the initial round and local competitions, including the one in Franklin; a semifinal round; and a final round in Washington, D.C. Cash prizes totaling $70,000 will be awarded to the three highest-rated contestants in the final round of the challenge.

The challenge is open only to: citizens or permanent residents of the U.S. who are at least 18 at the time of their submission; and private entities, such as corporations or other organizations that are incorporated in and maintain a primary place of business in the United States.
