Knox Audiology and Hearing Care hosted a ribbon cutting and open house Wednesday to celebrate completion of the recent renovations to its new office at 108 Western Ave.

The building was extensively renovated to update the space to a modern, state-of-the-art audiology practice with greater handicap accessibility, company officials stated.

“As Suffolk’s only locally-owned, independent audiology practice, our goal is to offer compassionate services with one-on-one attention to hearing needs and concerns,” owner and audiologist Carrie Knox stated in a press release.

Knox is licensed as both an audiologist and a hearing aid specialist in Virginia and holds national certification from the American Speech, Language & Hearing Association.

Knox served locally for several years as audiologist for the practice of Dr. John Lyle and Dr. Eugenia Gray. Following the closure of that practice due to Lyle’s retirement, Knox Audiology was created.

“We want Suffolk to be a place where our citizens can have a high quality of life and live their lives to the fullest,” Mayor Linda T. Johnson stated in a press release announcing the open house.

“It is wonderful to have Carrie and Knox Audiology & Hearing Care invest in this new operation that will impact the health and well-being of our community.”
