Registration ends today for the “Red, White and Something Blue” military wedding giveaway, sponsored by House of Maya Bridal Salons, which operates Maya Couture on Main in downtown Suffolk.
At the end of the contest, a couple will win a $25,000 wedding that includes attire, the venue, DJ services, invitations, photographer, flowers, décor, wedding cake and more.
“’Red, White, and Something Blue’ is an initiative to continue the support and recognition of our military personnel who serve and protect our country,” House of Maya owner Maya Holihan said.
“Working in the wedding industry in this market is a real eye-opener to the ever-changing challenges our service members face. We are often presented with weddings that are pushed up, postponed, or cancelled because of their call of duty to our country. As the wedding professionals who service these couples, we’re often riding the emotional and financial roller coaster with our military couples. The purpose of this wedding is to remove all that stress for one deserving couple.”
Couples wishing to enter the contest must be prepared to hold their wedding on Nov. 4 in Norfolk. They must also be 18 or older and not already legally married, and at least one of the two must be an active-duty member of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines or Coast Guard.
To enter, couples can visit www.houseofmayabridal.com and click on the “Red, White and Something Blue” tab, where they’ll be able to submit a photo and video.
The company will choose four finalist couples and introduce them to the public via social media on April 11. Members of the public then will be able to vote for their favorite couples through April 25, and the winner will be announced on May 2.
