Davenport & Company was recently named the third-best large company to work for in the 2017 “Best Places to Work in Virginia,” an annual list created by Virginia Business magazine and Best Companies Group that recognizes the best employers in the commonwealth.

This year marked Davenport’s sixth appearance on the list in the large company category, which comprises public businesses with more than 250 employees.

Headquartered in Richmond, Virginia, Davenport offers a wide range of financial services for individuals, corporations, institutions, and municipalities.

To be considered for selection to the list, companies from across the state entered a two-part survey process. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company’s workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience.

Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process in Virginia and also analyzed the data and used their expertise to determine the final ranking.
