Bulldogs lose in championship

King’s Fork High School’s baseball team fell to Oscar Smith High School 4-2 for the second time this season.

The Bulldogs advanced to the championship of their spring break tournament on Wednesday. They faced off against Oscar Smith, but the Tigers won the championship game.

It was the second time the Bulldogs were defeated by the Tigers, and both of them were close games. In the first meeting, the Tigers took the game 4-3.

King’s Fork was able to manage only two hits as a team, but did get two RBI from senior Blake Sargent. Oscar Smith didn’t commit any errors on the evening. The Bulldogs took a 2-0 lead after the third inning before the Tigers made a run in the next two innings.

The loss puts King’s Fork at 4-7 on the season, but they have things they can build on from solid play during the tournament. King’s Fork will play Deep Creek High School at home at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.
