It was a great moment for 2013 King’s Fork graduate Chuck Clark last Saturday. The now former Virginia Tech Hokie was the taken by the Baltimore Ravens with the 186th pick (sixth round) of the 2017 NFL Draft. In his four years at Virginia Tech, he started 49 games at defensive back. He had 296 tackles and two interceptions in his career at VT.

He was the Ravens’ final pick of the NFL draft. Ravens Director of College Scouting Joe Hortiz had this to say about Clark.

“He’s a very instinctive player,” Hortiz said about Clark. “He’s aggressive as a blitzer, he’s physical, he’s a good form tackler. Just watching him, he always seems to be around the ball and in the right position to make plays.”

In his career at VT, Clark was also a two-time team captain. At the NFL combine in March, Clark posted one of the top performances in the 20-yard shuttle with a time of 4.07. He also ran a 4.55 in the 40-yard dash.

Clark will add depth to the Ravens’ backfield and will likely work his way through special teams first.
