King’s Fork High School class of 2019 prospect Chris Sherain is receiving a lot of interest from major college programs.

Shearin is heading into his junior season with the Bulldogs’ football team. He has been a starter on the King’s Fork defense since he was a freshman, and as a result he is becoming yet another hot prospect for King’s Fork.

As it stands right now, Shearin has two NCAA Division I offers, one from the University of Virginia and the other from University of Maryland. He has visited plenty of other schools, so more offers could be coming the junior’s way.

“Recruitment is a long process,” he said. “But I’ve learned to be patient and let it play out.”

Not only has Shearin been competing at a high level on the field, but he is also getting it done in the classroom. His grade point average is above a 3.0.

“I think our kids to a good job,” Bulldogs coach Scottie Littles said. “I think our kids do a good job putting themselves in position to get to the next level. This is just a benefit of their hard work.”

Shearin is often tasked with the challenge of covering the opponent’s best receiver. He has also played at the receiver position for the Bulldogs. College coaches have taken a liking to the type of athlete he is and could be at the NCAA Division I level.
