Suffolk athletes named all-district

Seven Suffolk representatives made the first and second Southeastern District field hockey teams.

Out of the three Suffolk schools that compete in the district, Nansemond River High School led the way on the all-district teams. They placed five girls on the first and second teams with Ashlyn Rogers, Sarah Rhiel and Allison Fischer making the first team.

Nyah McNeal and Lydia Peral were both selected to the second team for the Lady Warriors.

Lakeland High School placed three on the second team with Sarah Stansick, Allison Thompson and Ashton Moore.

Nansemond River finished third in the district with a 7-2 record. Lakeland finished seventh with a 4-5 record, and King’s Fork High School finished ninth with a 1-8 record. Anaya Godfrey and Amber Suits were both honorable mentions for King’s Fork.
