Police investigate robbery

Suffolk police are investigating a robbery that happened late Tuesday in the 800 block of West Constance Road.

The robbery at the Corner Mart store was reported at 10:35 p.m., according to a city press release.

Preliminary investigation found that a male suspect entered the business, displayed a firearm and demanded money from the register, the press release stated. The suspect fled the scene on foot with an undetermined amount of currency. No one was injured.

The suspect was described as a black male in his mid-30s, 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall, about 200 pounds, wearing a black jacket, gray hoodie under the jacket, blue jeans, black boots and a black bandanna covering his face.
