The Lady Bulldogs lost their first district game of the season on the road Monday night.

King’s Fork High School girls’ basketball team took their second loss of the season but first district loss to Deep Creek High School. It was one of the more shocking losses of the year in girls’ basketball in the Southeastern District.

The first meeting, the Lady Bulldogs took the win 58-49. This time around, the Lady Hornets took the win 85-72. It was the first district loss in the past two seasons for the Lady Bulldogs.

At halftime, the Lady Bulldogs had a three-point lead. However, the third quarter seemed to be the turning point in the game, as the Lady Bulldogs went into the fourth quarter trailing Deep Creek 58-53.

A fiery fourth quarter by the Lady Hornets was too much for the Lady Bulldogs. Deep Creek shot the ball exceptionally well on their home floor. They accounted for six three-pointers in the fourth quarter alone, which led them to their 13-point victory.

Nylah Young had the game high with 33 points. Camary Harris added 18 points.

King’s Fork will travel to Grassfield High School at 7 p.m. Friday.
