King’s Fork High School girls’ basketball team is preparing for the state tournament this weekend, but since the regional tournament ended last weekend, they have earned a couple of honors.
Nylah Young, Camary Harris, Neecole Brown and Brianna Copeland have been selected to the All-Region teams.
Each of those four girls were also all-district selections as well. Lady Bulldogs coach Maurice Fofana was selected the Class 4 Region A Coach of the Year, as he was also selected the Southeastern District Coach of the Year.
Young and Harris were selected first team all-region, while Copeland and Brown were selected to the second team. With what King’s Fork has accomplished up to this point, it won’t be surprising to see multiple all-state selections as well when the time comes.
The Lady Bulldogs earned the No. 1 seed in the region and were Southeastern District co-champions. In the regional championship game against Lake Taylor High School, the Lady Bulldogs fell by two points. They will face Monacan High School at 6 p.m. Friday at Midlothian High School. Admission is $10.
