Gov. Ralph Northam recently appointed a number of Suffolk residents to the boards of visitors at state colleges and universities.

The full list is below:

• Maria Herbert, president of MCH Consulting Services, was appointed to the Christopher Newport University Board of Visitors.
• Pamela C. Kirk was appointed to the Old Dominion University Board of Visitors.
• Dr. L.D. Britt, Henry Ford Professor and Edward J. Brickhouse Chairman at Eastern Virginia Medical School, was appointed to the University of Virginia and Affiliated Schools Board of Visitors.
• Thursa D. Crittenden, a retired broadcast television and public affairs executive, was appointed to the Virginia State University Board of Visitors.
