After 20 years of working in public accounting and raising three children in Cary, N.C., Barrett and her husband moved back to the area and established residency in the cooperative service territory as a CEC member. Barrett’s family ties with the Cooperative date back to 1954, when her father began serving as the attorney for Community Electric Cooperative.

“The Cooperative has been a refreshing change. It is a great place to work, and I look forward to my future on the CEC team,” Barrett said.

“Please join us as we congratulate Jennie,” Harmon said. “We have the utmost confidence in her to carry us into the future as we continue to meet and exceed the expectations of our members.”

Barrett is licensed as a CPA in Virginia and North Carolina. She graduated with a major in accounting from the University of Richmond in Virginia and is part of the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants and the National Society of Accountants for Cooperatives.
