Suffolk Edward Jones offices support Soles for Souls

The local Suffolk Edward Jones financial advisers are supporting Soles for Souls by using their branch offices as drop-off locations for a clothing drive.

The items needed for the clothing drive include new and gently used shoes.

Local residents and businesses may help by bringing in items to the Edward Jones branch office during regular business hours through April 15.

Maryview achieves re-designation

Bon Secours Maryview Medical Center recently announced it has achieved Pathway to Excellence re-designation by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

Achieving the designation demonstrates that nurses at Bon Secours Maryview are in a work environment where they can excel, feel empowered, and are valued as integral members of inter-professional health care teams.

“Our nursing team is honored to have achieved our Pathway to Excellence re-designation,” says Helena Walo, chief nursing officer for Bon Secours Maryview. “This recognizes our commitment to our nurses’ well-being and our ability to provide excellent patient care for our community.”

The Pathway to Excellence designation is granted based on the confirmed presence of nursing practice standards. For an organization to earn the distinction, it must successfully undergo a thorough review process that documents foundational quality initiatives in creating a positive work environment — as defined by nurses and supported by research. These initiatives must be integrated in the facility’s practices, policies and culture. Nurses in the organization validate the presence of the criteria in the organization through participation in a voluntary, confidential online survey. The honor encourages other nurses to join their colleagues in this desirable and nurturing environment.
