Editor, the News-Herald:

To see &uot;affordable housing&uot; in Suffolk for home buyers and renters would be worthy of much appreciation.

Take a deeper look as I paint a picture: Renter’s paying $500 a month plus living on poverty level; wages so low one must sink or swim.

We are working people, not trying to beat the system or looking for a hand out, just a hand up.

Some assume we’re able to buy a home and just how is that? Paying over half your salary in rent speaks for itself. This would be more like a miracle.

Hear the plea — build in decent locations; offer affordable housing to all. Paint us another picture, one that let’s us see the American dream.

When our apartments are being sold, how secure do you think we feel?
