Seventeen students were taken to Obici Hospital after two vehicles rear-ended a school bus around 8:30 p.m. Thursday.

None of the students, who were enroute to Kilby Shores Elementary School, suffered serious injuries, said Lt. Debbie George, spokeswoman for the Suffolk Police Department.

The accident happened in the 1400 block of Holland Road, when the school bus had stopped to pick up a student, George said.

While the bus was stopped, it was hit in the rear by a Chrysler.

That vehicle, in turn, was struck from behind by a Dodge van.

The names of the adults driving the three vehicles were not available.
