Cora T. Rawls

Mrs. Cora T. Rawls, 77, of 6234 Carrsville Highway, Carrsville, died Sunday, Oct. 5, 2003, in Southampton Memorial Hospital, Franklin.

A native of Como, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Roy Picott and Maggie Eure Picott, and the widow of Herbert N. Rawls Sr. She was also predeceased by a daughter, Beverly Rawls

She was a member of Pulaski Baptist Church, Carrsville, where she was a member of the Senior Choir, Missionary Circle, and was treasurer of the Deaconess Board.

She leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters, Nadirah &uot;Gwen&uot; Rawls-Sharif of Carrsville and Sandra Mayfield, and her husband, the Rev. Keith Mayfield, of Suffolk; four sons, Herbert N. Rawls Jr., and his wife, Vernell Rawls, of Baltimore, Md.; Melvin Rawls, and his wife, Carol Rawls, of Portsmouth; Ray Rawls, and his wife, Thelma Rawls, of Trenton, N.J.; and Terry Rawls, and his wife, Tammy Rawls, of Carrsville; one brother, Roy Picott Jr. of Como; 19 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in Pulaski Baptist Church, Carrsville, by Dr. Robert Rodgers. Interment will be in the Duke Cemetery.
