The latest winners of the News-Herald’s trivia and coloring contests walked out of the newsroom Thursday with eight tickets to witness the antics and basketball skills of the fabulous &uot;Harlem Globetrotters.&uot;

Nick Howell, a student at Forest Glen Middle School, correctly answered the 10 trivia questions about the history behind the fantastic Globetrotters. He and his sister, Katelyn, a student at First Baptist Christian School, came to the News-Herald with their dad to pick up the tickets and they were pure smiles!

The children live on Lake Cohoon Road with their parents, Kay and Mason Howell.

This Sunday, March 9, the family will see the Globetrotters perform at the Constants Convocation Center.

The second set of four tickets to see the Globetrotters went to Christy Jordan, a six year old student of Nansemond Parkway Elementary School. Her unique skills in choosing such a variety of colors for the coloring contest netted the four tickets and she and sister, Alexis, a 12-year old John F. Kennedy Middle School student, came to pick them up. They will be attending the game with their parents, Ronald and Cheryl Jordan of Lake Kennedy Dr.

This isn’t Christy’s first brush with art. She was a student host for the kindergarten class at her school this past Saturday and a volunteer for the Music & Arts Festival. She is also a member of the Jesus Friends Choir at East End Baptist Church.

Of course, at school, her favorite subject is none other than basketball!
