Record heat today?

It’s July. It’s supposed to be hot. But Wednesday’s weather may be a record when it comes to just how hot it gets.

Whether it is the National Weather Service’s forecast or the prediction on the popular website for The Weather Channel, Wednesday’s high temperature could either match or break the 2004 record of 99 degrees.

The National Weather Service calls for a high of 99 degrees Wednesday, while The Weather Channel is calling for 101 degrees.

In their weather advisory for Wednesday, the National Weather Service said “another hot day is expected today…with widespread high temperatures ranging from the mid 90s to around 102…”

The average high temperature for July in Suffolk is 88 degrees, with the average low of 68 degrees. Just for the record, Suffolk is in no danger of breaking the record low temperature of 55 degrees set in 1979.
