The Nansemond-Suffolk Academy field hockey team snagged its first win of the season when sophomore Brooklyne Carr scored with 53 seconds remaining in the game to defeat visiting Smithfield High School 1-0 on Thursday.

Lady Saints sophomore Emily Mason assisted on the goal.

NSA (1-1, 0-0) visits Bethel High School on Tuesday.
