With a third-place regular-season finish in Division II of the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association, Nansemond-Suffolk Academy’s football team has once again earned its way into the state playoffs this year.

The Saints — 8-2 after Friday’s regular season-ending win over Hampton Roads Academy — are ranked third, behind Bishop Sullivan Catholic High School and The Potomac School, respectively, and ahead of St. Anne’s-Bellfield School.

Nansemond-Suffolk will face The Potomac School (7-2) at Panthers Field in McLean on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
