Patterson again led the Saints with an outstanding performance. He produced 22 points, going 10-for-11 from the free throw line, while also grabbing eight rebounds and blocking three shots.

Askew was the only other NSA player in double figures as a scorer, with 15 points, but the Saints got important contributions from others, including senior guard Matthew Shiembob and senior forward Hunter Brinkley, who had eight points apiece, and Lokie, who had seven.

Nansemond-Suffolk led 26-17 after the first quarter and 36-28 at the half. As in their game against Southampton, the Saints showed vulnerability in the third quarter, when the Ambassadors outscored them 15-8, but NSA rebounded to win the fourth period 31-18.

NSA (3-2) faces Southampton Academy again on Friday but will play host this time as part of the Nansemond-Suffolk Academy Holiday Classic. The event will continue on Saturday, with the Saints scheduled to take on Tidewater Academy in the 2:30 p.m. time slot.
