Lakeland, King’s Fork and Nansemond River had top individual and relay finishes in the final district tune-up before the postseason of the indoor track and field season Wednesday at the Boo Williams Sportsplex.

Freshmen were among the best performers for Lakeland and Nansemond River.

Lady Cavalier freshman Khadijah Cloudeh placed second in the long jump with a best mark of 14-feet-9.

NR freshman Mia McClain finished third in the 55-meter dash in 7.62 seconds.

King’s Fork senior Qualitra Brown was runner-up in the 500 meters in 1:19.38. Individual runners-up in the boys’ half of the meet were Lakeland’s Jaquan Demiel (500, 1:09.44) and KF’s Joseph Hill (300, 36.61). Lakeland’s Quentin Gilchrist finished third in the 55 dash (6.63).

Bulldog relay teams had an impressive day with the boys 4×200 team winning over second-place Nansemond River, the girls 4×400 team taking second and the boys 4×400 team finishing third.

The Southeastern District Championship is set for Wednesday, Feb. 9 at the same venue in Hampton.
