King’s Fork High School senior Charles Clark has been named the U.S. Army Beckley Recruiting Battalion’s Army Iron Man of the Week for Virginia.

Clark rushed for 148 yards with three touchdowns on 28 carries, while recording eight tackles and breaking up two passes in helping King’s Fork to a 21-14 win over Booker T. Washington on Aug. 24.

As a weekly winner, Clark is a finalist for the fifth annual Army Iron Man of the Year for Virginia.

Clark has committed to playing college football next year in the ACC for Virginia Tech.

“In my eyes, Charles Clark is the best player I’ve ever played with, and he was great tonight,” Bulldog junior quarterback Uriah Adams said following last week’s win. Adams complemented Clark on the night, with 62 yards rushing on 25 carries.

Playing and excelling on offense and defense, the Army Iron Man must demonstrate physical and emotional strength, as well as strength of character.
