A door on the courthouse was boarded up on Monday afternoon after being damaged by an unknown offender over the weekend.

Police believe several people may have witnessed a vandalism at a government building this weekend and are asking for those people to come forward to tell what they saw.

A glass door on the front of the Mills E. Godwin Courts Building was broken at 2:32 a.m. Sunday when a rock was thrown through the door. The offender did not go into the building through the broken glass.

Surveillance video shows several vehicles driving by the courthouse prior to and immediately after the incident, and police are hoping one of them saw details not visible on the surveillance cameras.

The suspect is a white male in his late teens or early 20s, wearing a black T-shirt and light-colored ball cap. He was walking on the sidewalk in front of the building prior to the incident.
