Two men were arrested and charged with armed robbery

early Saturday morning on charges of armed robbery.

According to police reports, dispatchers were called to the area of East Washington and South 5^th streets at about 4:31 a.m. Saturday, where a man said he had been approached by a group of men — some of whom he recognized.

The victim said he was “forcibly held” while they men went through his pants pockets, “taking a small amount of cash, his cell phone, cologne and other items,” Suffolk spokeswoman Diana Klink stated in an email.

Among those arrested were Melvin Lee Harden Jr., 32, and Brian Keith Savage, 33.
