Monday brought yet another bomb threat for Suffolk Public Schools, again at John Yeates Middle School and this time resulting in a Code Orange and evacuation of the building.
According to a recorded phone message sent to John Yeates families, cited by district spokeswoman Bethanne Bradshaw, a bomb threat was written on a restroom wall in the morning.
After Suffolk Fire and Rescue attended the school to help investigate, the fire marshal ordered a Code Orange bomb threat evacuation at 1:15 p.m.
Fire department personnel and state police dogs swept the building and mobile units before the fire marshal allowed students to return at 1:45 p.m., the message continued.
The message asked anyone with information that could help in the investigation to contact the school or Suffolk Police Department.
The most recent previous bomb threat in the city’s public schools was at John Yeates on Wednesday, for which officials did not report any evacuation.
