KFHS holds basketball showcase

King’s Fork High School will host the Bulldog Showcase on Saturday, featuring 16 high school teams from around the area, both boys’ and girls’.
The event serves as a fund-raiser for the King’s Fork athletic department, and its girls’ and boys’ teams will close out the event.
The Lady Bulldogs will take on Lake Taylor High School, which eliminated them from the regional quarterfinals last year and won the state championship. Tip-off for that rematch is scheduled for 7:45 p.m.
The Bulldogs will play Hampton High School with a tip-off scheduled for 9:15 p.m.
Nansemond River High School’s girls’ basketball team will play earlier in the day at 1 p.m. against Booker T. Washington High School.
The price of admission is $8 for adults and $5 for children 11 and under.
Following is the schedule for the event:
10 a.m. — Girls: Hertford County High School vs. Grafton High School
11:30 a.m. — Boys: Hertford County High School vs. Grafton High School
1 p.m. — Girls: Booker T. Washington High School vs. Nansemond River High School
2:30 p.m. — Boys: Lake Taylor High School vs. Oscar Smith High School
4:45 p.m. — Boys: Booker T. Washington High School vs. Great Bridge High School
6:15 p.m. — Girls: Brunswick High School vs. Hampton High School
7:45 p.m. — Girls: Lake Taylor High School vs. King’s Fork High School
9:15 p.m. — Boys: Hampton High School vs. King’s Fork High School
