The King’s Fork High School boys’ basketball team fell 54-49 on the road against I.C. Norcom High School in Tuesday’s opening round of the Group 4A South Region playoffs.
The Bulldogs were up slightly at the end of the first quarter, down by three at halftime and then down by eight at the end of the third.
The Greyhounds extended their lead to 12 in the fourth, but King’s Fork kept coming back.
“Just one or two plays away from winning the ball game and unfortunately just didn’t make those plays,” Bulldogs head coach Josh Worrell said.
He also cited key rebounds that his team lost as playing a substantive role in the loss.
Sophomore Deshaun Wethington led King’s Fork with 15 points, sophomore Keith Stagg had 10 points and five boards and junior Justin Chicot also had 10 points.
The Bulldogs wrapped up the 2013-14 season with a 14-12 record.
