A King’s Fork High School student who allegedly brought a large knife to school Friday was taken into custody then released on a summons for possession of a concealed weapon on school property, according to city of Suffolk spokeswoman Diana Klink.

After a school resource officer assisted school administration in locating a truant student on campus, Nathan Brian Cunningham, 18, was found to have a concealed knife in his book bag, Klink stated.

“The knife was not displayed in a threatening manner and no students were injured,” according to Klink. “The knife was found to be over nine inches long.”
