The Lakeland High School girls’ basketball team edged host Denbigh High School by the score of 62-58 on Tuesday.

Lady Cavaliers freshman Brianna Copeland led her team with 23 points to go with five rebounds, freshman Kayla Barnes added 11 points, four assists and three rebounds and freshman Makayla Dickens had 11 points and six boards. Senior Sharneisha Savage also contributed nine points.

Lakeland (7-13, 2-5) hosts Heritage High School on Friday.
