Following are this week’s nominees for the Duke Automotive-Suffolk News-Herald Player of the Week:

• Logan Montel, junior for King’s Fork High School soccer: She helped the Lady Bulldogs’ winning ways continue after their breakout 2014 season. Contributing alongside the offensive output of recent Player of the Week honoree Cydney Nichols, Montel scored a goal to help the Lady Bulldogs open the 2015 season with a 3-1 win over host Deep Creek High School on Tuesday.
• Shawn Moose, junior for Suffolk Christian Academy baseball: He was superb both on the mound and at the plate against host Virginia Beach Friends School on Tuesday, leading the Knights to an 11-0 victory. As a pitcher, he threw a complete game two-hitter, with 15 strikeouts. As a batter, he went 3-for-4, with three runs scored.
• Jaclyn Mounie, junior for Nansemond River High School softball: She helped the Lady Warriors get a season full of state championship aspirations off on the right foot on Tuesday at Grassfield High School. She went 3-for-4 at the plate with a run batted in and two runs scored, while playing outstanding defense on the right side of the field, aiding in an 8-6 victory over the Lady Grizzlies.
