Player of the Week nominees

Following are this week’s nominees for the Duke Automotive-Suffolk News-Herald Player of the Week:
- Briana Autrey, sophomore for Nansemond River High School basketball: She helped lead the Lady Warriors to a dominant PenSouth Conference win with a remarkable performance on Friday night. In the 63-37 victory over host Hampton High School, she produced a game-high 21 points to go with seven rebounds, six assists and five steals.
- Zoie Howell, senior for Suffolk Christian Academy basketball: She elevated her game against visiting conference rival Summit Christian Academy on Thursday, helping lead the Lady Knights to a last-minute 46-45 victory. She hit the go-ahead basket in the waning moments, finished well above her scoring average with 12 points for the game and added eight rebounds.
- Amesha Miller, junior for King’s Fork High School basketball: As the undefeated Lady Bulldogs began to see on Friday that they will be getting every team’s best shot at this point, she was the difference-maker that helped them improve to 18-0. She led them to a 58-55 victory over host Deep Creek High School by contributing 19 points, 17 rebounds and two blocks.
