King’s Fork High School’s boys’ basketball team lost a close game to Deep Creek in the semifinals of the Conference 17 tournament Tuesday.
The Bulldogs fell to Deep Creek 78-75.
King’s Fork was the No. 2 seed in the tournament, while Deep Creek was the third seed. Though the teams’ prior two meetings were close, the Bulldogs were able to come out with a win.
James Hatton led the way for the Bulldogs with 20 points. With the loss, the season has ended for the Bulldogs, who finish with a 16-9 record. The Bulldogs led going into the fourth quarter at home.
“We could have done a better job at playing our brand of basketball,” Bulldogs senior Raemaad Wright said. “We had solid leads when we slowed down and ran stuff. When we started playing like them, we had a few bad shots and turnovers, and our lead crumbled.”
