King’s Fork High School’s boys’ soccer team defeated Oscar Smith High School Thursday evening.

The Bulldogs defeated the Tigers in a 3-0 shutout. The win gives King’s Fork some much needed momentum going into spring break.

“I think we played phenomenally,” Bulldogs coach Michel Bilé said. “All around the field, we played well, from the goalkeepers on down. We provided some nice offensive pressure. Everyone felt good about our performance.”

This was the Bulldogs’ first shutout of the season.

Tyler Summers, Nicholas Griffin and Jean-Mathias Bilé each had a goal for the Bulldogs. Bilé mentioned that he wanted to his team continue to build their chemistry, and they are starting to show that.

“We had a slow start to the season,” he said. “It was all about finding a good turning point in the season. We have to be able to carry this momentum now.”

It is important for King’s Fork to continue to build, because last year they unraveled towards the latter part of their season. To keep from that happening again, Bilé is going to continue to coach his team up and keep them focused.

Over the break, Bilé wants to keep working on his team’s offensive attack and make sure that his team stays conditioned. Also, the Bulldogs are looking to get healthy, as their top goalkeeper missed three games this season. They also have a top midfielder who is working his way back from sickness. The break should give the Bulldogs some much needed time.

In the second half of the season, Bilé wants to continue to build on the team’s consistency. After their break, the Bulldogs will come back and face Deep Creek High School April 18.
