Bulldogs hold off Hornets

King’s Fork High School baseball team held off Deep Creek High School in a 9-8 win at home Tuesday afternoon. It was their second win over Deep Creek this season.

Deep Creek did make a late push in the sixth inning, driving in six runs, but the Bulldogs were able to hang on.

King’s Fork had a 6-2 lead after five innings. They scored three runs in the sixth inning. Mason Brown, Andrew Riddick and Blake Sargent had pitching duties for the Bulldogs. Brown got the pitching win. Sargent had a big game from the plate for the Bulldogs, going 3-3 with three runs, three hits and four RBIs.

Noah Floyd had a solid game as well. He went 2-2 at bat with two runs, two hits and two RBIs.

The win puts the Bulldogs at 5-7 on the year. both teams will meet again on Friday. King’s Fork will go on the road. The game will start at 5:30 p.m.
