King’s Fork High School’s baseball team defeated Conference 17 opponent Lake Taylor High School on the road Tuesday afternoon.

The Bulldogs are now 9-7 and 4-0 in the conference after the 14-3 win. Tristen DeGuzman had a big game for the Bulldogs. He went 2-of-4, scoring two runs and five RBIs. In the past two games, he has nine RBIs combined. As a team, King’s Fork had a batting percentage of 58 percent.

“I’ve just told myself to focus at the plate and don’t think about it too much,” DeGuzman said. “I’ve been trusting my swing.”

King’s Fork started the game by scoring nine runs in the first inning alone. From there, it was hard for Lake Taylor to regain composure, giving the Bulldogs a solid win. The Bulldogs have gotten off to a fast start and conference play.

“All our games from here on out are conference games, so every game matters,” DeGuzman said. “The whole team has done a good job of focusing and doing the things we need to do to win.”

Next, King’s Fork will take on Wilson High School on the road at 5:30 p.m. Friday.
