James Hatton and Keontae Boyette were Class 4 Region A All-Region selections for the Bulldogs.

The King’s Fork High School boys’ basketball team had a lot of success under first-year coach Rick Hite. Hatton and Boyette were both beneficiaries of what Hite was able to bring to the table for King’s Fork as the second boys’ basketball coach in the school’s history. Not only were Hatton and Boyette All-District selections, they were King’s Fork only All-Region players as well.

Hatton, a senior, was selected to the first team, while Boyette was selected to the second team. The senior enjoyed a final campaign with the Bulldogs in which he felt he took his game to another level.

“Hard work is really starting to pay off,” Hatton said. “I was really happy with my performance from last season to this season. My game really changed and it showed this season.”

Boyette transferred over from Lakeland High School and was happy to be able to have the success he had in his first year with the team.

“This is all exciting, and it feels very special,” Boyette said. “I knew I was going to be able to do good things, but I really didn’t know I was going to be receiving all of these accolades.”

The Bulldogs finished with 15 wins this season and were tied for third place in the Southeastern District.
