The Nansemond River High School softball team shut out rival Lakeland High School 4-0 Friday evening.

The Lady Warriors took care of business against their rival on the road Friday evening. All it took was four runs and a solid defensive effort to defeat Lakeland. Nansemond River took the lead in the second inning, scoring two runs, and then scoring their final two in the fifth inning.

The Lady Warriors won the first matchup this season 3-0.

Nansemond River will host Western Branch High School at 5:30 p.m. Monday. Lakeland will host Indian River High School at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.
