The Nansemond-Suffolk Academy Saints boys lacrosse team survived a late rally by First Flight to secure an 11-10 victory on Friday, its first win of the 2024 campaign.

The game was a back-and-forth affair for most of the match until NSA pulled away by two goals late in the final period. First Flight, however, rallied with under a minute to play to pull within one point. The Saints won the ensuing face-off and were able to run the final 38 seconds off the clock to secure the win.

Cooper Goss scored four goals and one assist, and Howard Casterlow’s hat trick and four assists led the Saints to the win. The Saints move to 1-2 on the season and play host to Cape Henry Collegiate on Monday, March 18 at 6 p.m.
