The Nansemond-Suffolk girls’ basketball team defeated Trinity Episcopal 42-26 on Friday in the first day of the 2013 Steward School Basketball Invitational in Richmond.

Junior guard Jessica Pieroni led the Lady Saints with 16 points, five assists and four steals to go with seven rebounds.

The Lady Saints (10-3, 0-0) played Saturday evening in the girls’ championship game of the two-day event.
